eClassLive Overview

eClassLive is U of A's centrally supported web-conferencing tool. Powered by the Adobe Connect platform, it can add live discussion and dynamic interaction to your exsiting eClass courses. The software suite enables instructors to have real-time discussions with students supported with PowerPoint slides, web sites, whiteboard mark-up capability, and shared applications and can additionally be used by any U of A staff member with a CCID for collaborating with colleagues. The U of A's site-wide license can support up to 1000 users across all sessions running concurrently on the system. As a benchmark for high load within an individual session, some of our users have reported running sessions with ~200 participants without any noticeable performance impact.

  • Hosting space for online classes where students can view content, listen to lectures, and interact with each other
  • Recording tool to capture voice over lectures accompanying powerpoint accessible online or as an mp4 file
  • Presentation platform for at-a-distance guest lecturers or conference presenters

Getting Started

If you're new to eClassLive, the knowledge base on this site is full of instructional tutorials and videos covering the basic functions of the application. The basic requirements for eClassLive are an internet connection and a standard modern computer with Adobe Flashplayer installed.
